Science Week sparks wonder

Science Week at St Joseph’s College was nothing short of spectacular. From Prep to Year 12, students experienced the wonder of science through hands-on activities, engaging experiments and inspiring presentations.

Led by the UQ STEM ambassadors, along with our lab technician Ava Choi and Head of Science Mr Beotra, the week brought classrooms to life. Our younger learners were amazed by exploding Coke and Mentos, foamy Elephant’s Toothpaste and sizzling Lemon Volcanoes, while older students put their scientific curiosity to the test in competitions with exciting prizes.

What made the week truly memorable was the spirit of curiosity. From “Why does it explode?” to “How do parachutes slow things down?” every question sparked deeper learning and discovery. The result was a whole school buzzing with excitement, imagination and a renewed love of science.
