Meet our new Primary Learning Leader Mrs Tanya Fowke

​​​Our latest Staff Member is Ms Tanya Fowke, who has been appointed as our Primary Learning Leader. Tanya's role will shape teaching practice and curriculum delivery in the Primary Years.

Tanya is an experienced, passionate ​and committed Educator. She fosters quality education for all children by valuing the work of teachers and leadership teams to maximize educational outcomes.  The child is at the centre of learning and continued student engagement and improvement in learning is a priority. Tanya has a strong commitment to quality education for all students and being at the cutting edge of educational trends. It is a priority to enhance teacher capacity and effectiveness, and ensure high expectations for the engagement, learning progress and achievement of each student. She will also lead and coordinate curriculum implementation and development of pedagogy and assessment skills. As a Primary Learning Leader, Tanya will work to support teachers to deliver improved educational outcomes for students consistent with Brisbane Catholic Education. She is thrilled to be a founding member of the leadership team at St Joseph's and is humbled to contribute to the success of all our students.

Tanya has more than 20 years teaching experience, working overseas, in local Gold Coast public schools and in NSW, in private, government and Catholic systems. She has held positions of Lead Pedagogical Coach in Literacy and Numeracy in several Queensland Government Schools, Support Teacher Literacy and Numeracy in Rockhampton, Teaching and Learning Advisor in Malaysia and Singapore, Head of Department at Varsity College and recently the Leader of Pedagogy in a Catholic School in NSW.

She is currently embarking on her Masters of Education with an Action Research through Southern Cross University. Her Action Research will investigate ways to enhance our students writing ability.​
